DR George REDMONDS

George Redmonds is a free-lance historian who specialises in name studies. He has lectured widely overseas and in this country and is the author of numerous articles and books.  His recent publications include Surnames and Genealogy: a new approach (1997), Christian Names in Local and Family History (2004) and Names and History: People, Places and Things (2004). In 2001 he presented the BBC Radio 4 series   Surnames, Genes and Genealogy. He is currently collaborating with Professor David Hey and Dr Turi King on a book for OUP on surnames and genetics. He is also working on a north-country glossary.
