Founded in the same year as the United Kingdom, Fortnum & Mason is not just the Queen’s Grocer and purveyor of picnics to the very posh. It has a rich history that covers everything from the Scotch Egg to the discovery of Tutenkhamun’s Tomb. The talk will take us through the impetus for establishing the shop in St. James’s, and its fortunes through the next 300 years.
