Andrea Tanner
Fortnum & Mason
Andrea Tanner worked as a genealogist at the College of Arms before embarking on an academic career at the Institute of Historical Research and then Kingston University, specialising in the history of poverty and child health.  She lead the creation of The Great Ormond Street Historical Patient Database, which now encompasses other children’s hospitals.
She has been honorary archivist at Fortnum & Mason for ten years, and decided in 2008 – very belatedly – to study for a professional archive qualification. In 2010 her transformation from poacher to gamekeeper should be effected.
