Resources for Family and Local History at the Library and Museum of Freemasonry
The Library and Museum is the repository for the archives of the governing bodies for freemasonry in England, Wales and certain overseas territories. Members meet in individual lodges. The first lodges were formed in the early 1700s. Information about individual members is based on Annual Returns of members compiled by individual lodges and sent to Grand Lodge. This introduction to these records will provide research tips for searching for individual members and the Masonic history of individual places or regions.
